CouponCabin Review 2024: A Real User's Thoughts

CouponCabin is a phenomenal platform for earning cashback from your favorite retailers. While users praise its ease of use, access to daily payouts, and solid cashback rates, it doesn’t have as many cashback partners as larger platforms.

CouponCabin Review 2024: A Real User's Thoughts
    Free
    No hidden fees

CouponCabin offers a straightforward way to earn and save, with robust cashback and coupon offers. They allow for daily withdrawals once you’ve hit the payout threshold, and there’s wonderful customer support professionals ready to assist you if need be.

    CouponCabin earned the following reviews:

    • 4.7 out of 5 Stars on the Apple App Store (6,200 reviews)
    • 4.5 out of 5 Stars on the Google Play Store (5,000 reviews)
    • 4.8 out of 5 Stars on Trustpilot (2,500 reviews)
    • 4.5 out of 5 Stars on Think Save Retire

In comparison to other cashback platforms we’ve reviewed, CouponCabin certainly stands out. While their roster of participating retailers is smaller than some competitors, the additional coupons and slightly higher cashback rates make up for it.

    • Solid cashback rates
    • Has a Google Chrome extension
    • Offers a mobile app in the Apple and Google Play Stores

    Cons

    • Doesn't have as many retailers as some competitors
    • Online purchases with in-store pickup aren't eligible for cashback
    • Some users have experienced unexplained account termination

    What We Love

CouponCabin’s reviews are overwhelmingly positive — and for good reason. The platform is user-friendly, offers great cashback rates, and a simple mobile app for on-the-go shoppers.

    Daily Payments

CouponCabin has a lot to offer, but the ability to withdraw funds daily might be the best one. Unlike other cashback platforms like Rakuten, which allows you to withdraw every three months, CouponCabin allows you to withdraw funds via PayPal, Venmo, Chase Payment, or electronic gift card 365 days per year.

That said, there are a few limitations here. You’ll need to hit a balance of at least $10 to initiate a withdrawal. Cashback is payable once your purchase is no longer returnable — up to 120 days after the purchase is made.

    Ease of Use

CouponCabin’s platform is incredibly user-friendly. With a few clean, simple tabs, you’re able to navigate the website and mobile app with ease.

    Great Customer Support

While we didn’t need to contact customer support, we reviewed hundreds of customer reviews, and users expressed great satisfaction with their customer support experience.

    Coupon Cabin Reviews

    Solid Cashback Rates

CouponCabin claims they pay more cashback than Rakuten, so we decided to put this to the test. Here’s how several CouponCabin cashback rates compare to Rakuten:

    Store CouponCabin Rakuten
Macy's 3.5% 2.0% normally, although at the time of writing, Rakuten offered a promo rate of 6.0%.
    Walgreens 2.0% 2.0%
    Sephora 2.5% 2.0%
    Joann 1.75% 1.5%
Nike Up to 3% 1.5% normally, but at the time of writing, 8.0% due to a promo offer.

Because Rakuten offers incredible promotional rates, they do surpass some CouponCabin rates on occasion. But, CouponCabin offers 5x cashback on specific retailers each day, which can surpass Rakuten offers. Before shopping, it’d be smart to compare the current rates on each site and determine where you can get the most cash back.

    Google Chrome Extension

CouponCabin offers a free Chrome extension, called the CouponCabin Sidekick, that notifies you of coupons and cashback offers when you visit a participating retailer’s website.

    Mobile App Version

If you shop primarily on your phone, download the CouponCabin mobile app, available in both the Apple App Store and Google Chrome Store.

    What We Don’t Love

There are a few notable downsides to CouponCabin.

    Could Use More Partner Stores

CouponCabin offers over 6,000 cashback partner stores, some offering up to 20% in cashback. While this might sound impressive, it pales in comparison to competitors like Honey, who has over 30,000 available partner stores.

    In-Store Pickup Not Eligible

If you’re an avid order-online-and-pick-up-in-store shopper, you may not earn as much as you’d like. Orders placed online and picked up in-store don’t qualify for cashback.

Platforms like Rakuten, Topcashback, and Ibotta do, however, allow you to earn on pickup orders.

    Issues with Account Termination

While we didn’t experience this ourselves, we found several reviews from customers reporting that their account was terminated for seemingly no reason. We feel this is important to report, as it’s something to think about before creating an account.

    Ways to Earn with CouponCabin

CouponCabin offers four ways to earn (or save):

    1. Promo Codes: Coupon codes for online purchases at thousands of stores, updated daily
    2. Cashback: Earn a percentage back on online purchases made at specific retailers
    3. Gift Cards: Earn cashback when you purchase an e-gift card via CouponCabin
    4. In-Store Coupons: Printable and downloadable coupons for in-store purchases

While it’s challenging to assess just how much you can earn with CouponCabin — especially given the opportunity to save as well — users reported earnings of around $130 to $500 per year.
This amount can range significantly, especially if you redeem one of the larger, CouponCabin-exclusive cashback opportunities like the ones shown below.

    Honey

PayPal Honey is a free browser extension and mobile app, allowing users to earn cashback at  over 40,000 retailers. It’s available in several browsers — including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Edge — and you’ll find it on both iOS and Android app stores.

    Fetch

One of our most highly-rated cashback apps, Fetch, is better for receipt scanning, but it’s worth mentioning. Active users earn roughly $120 per year.

    Ibotta

Rather than offering cashback percentages, Ibotta offers specific dollar amounts in cashback when you purchase a qualifying item and scan your receipt into the app. Ibotta users earn around $20 per month, or $240 per year.
