What is Mindy Kaling’s net worth?

Mindy Kaling is truly a jill-of-all-trades. She’s funny, a great actress, talented at writing, a top notch cook, and an excellent mom. I’ve been a Mindy Kaling fan since her debut as the ever-sassy Kelly Kapoor on NBC’s smash hit, The Office. She originally started as a writer on that show, but she was just too dang funny to keep offscreen and thus a Hollywood legend was born.

Who is Mindy Kaling?

Vera Mindy Chokalingam (later known as Mindy Kaling) was born on June 24th of 1979 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She adopted the first name of "Mindy" from birth. She attended Dartmouth College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in playwriting. That’s where her life took a turn from bright writer, to future celebrity. Her big break came in 2002 when she wrote and starred in the off-Broadway production Matt & Ben. I’ve already mentioned her 9-season-long tenure on The Office, but that’s not her only acting credit. After The Office, she starred in The Mindy Project, AND has had tons of success both on TV and in films.

Mindy Kaling has appeared in a variety of hits like: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Saturday Night Live, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Night at the Museum, Wreck-It-Ralph, Inside Out, A Wrinkle In Time, and Ocean's 8. She has won a Satellite Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Reader's Choice Award for her book, Why Not Me? In addition, she has been nominated for numerous Emmys over the years.

How did Mindy Kaling make her money?

Mindy made her money through phenomenal talent, drive, and a genuine gift for comedy. She also is a master at finding ways to expand her reach into new ventures. She has a collaboration with Hellofresh, an essay series on Amazon, and she’s even written a Netflix Original (Never Have I Ever, which is possibly my favorite Netflix Original ever). Truly, Mindy didn’t have any Hollywood genes or connections. She hustled hard, believed in herself, and wasn’t afraid to put herself out there.

What is Mindy Kaling’s net worth in 2021?

Mindy Kaling’s 2021 net worth is $35 million. She truly started from the bottom and made it big! It doesn’t hurt that she’s had success with real estate on top of her Hollywood success. She even purchased a home that was formerly owned by Frank Sinatra for only $9.55 million. Well below the asking price! Clearly Mindy has an eye for a deal.

Is Mindy Kaling a domestic engineer?

She managed to have an entire baby in secret during a pandemic… I would say that absolutely qualifies Mindy as a domestic engineer. Not to mention that she’s a single mom (though I’ve heard rumors that B.J. Novak helps out… maybe he’s her secret baby daddy? Gossip!)

Her partnership with Hellofresh is another sign that she’s an amazing domestic engineer. I mean, nobody is looking for my recipes on a national level.

Something we love about Mindy Kaling is her ability to keep it real. Mindy recently shared a genuinely vulnerable moment after the birth of her son, Spencer, with Daily Mail.

“I was so excited to be asked to be the cover of the Vogue India December issue but seriously nervous because I would have to shoot it six weeks after giving birth to my son Spencer. I was not feeling body confident, and even considered saying no.” We think Mindy is always gorgeous, but we love that she is so candid.

How can I make money like Mindy Kaling?

Never be afraid to explore new talents, and keep it real! Mindy made her money through leaning into what she’s good at. She’s unapologetically herself, and it works for her. It doesn’t hurt to have a killer sense of humor and a seriously warm smile, either.
