The personal finance community is filled with so many talented writers and inspiring families in search of something better out of life than the traditional society-approved plan of buying lots of stuff and retiring in your 60s if you’re lucky.

Here is a look at the best of this week’s personal finance blogs.

In this episode of Friday Feast: Coach Carson, Budgets Are Sexy, Tawcan, The Financial Diet, Lisa Vs. The Loans, Financial Superhero, Mad Money Monster, 1500 Days, Spills Spot, Medium Sized Family.

readingWelcome to the end of another week. The Friday Feast is my opportunity to highlight some of the best personal finance content that I read during the week. Both old and new articles get mentioned here because I enjoy going through people’s posting archives.

Now, on to the personal finance blogosphere!

First, check out Coach Carson‘s deep dive into an interesting battle: Dream home vs. House hacking.

And Budgets Are Sexy published a killer post about…what if you are a gay, non-white Muslim?

My favorite post of the week

My favorite post this week comes from Tawcan who asks: If you’re so smart, why aren’t you retired already?

“In my 20’s, I was into making big money really quick. So I chased high-risk stocks. I had some stellar returns but also got burned a number of times.” Make those mistakes while you’re young, though.

“Looking back, there were a number of things I could have done to put myself on a faster path toward financial independence. If I had taken advantage of the financial crisis by not sitting on a huge amount of cash, I probably would be looking at a good sizable portfolio.”

More from the personal finance community

The Financial Diet writes about invaluable career advice learned from quitting her job.

And, Lisa Vs. The Loans introduces the 50-30-20 budget.

Also, Financial Superhero reminds us that more stuff leads to more responsibility!

Lastly, Mad Money Monster asks if you can retire in your 30s. Yup, sure can! 🙂

Honorable mentions: 1500 Days is freeSpills Spot writes about progress, not perfection, and lastly, Medium Sized Family writes about developing self-control.
